As fraud concerns continue to rise, TFed wants to make sure that our members know how to protect themselves in case of identity theft, fraud and beyond. Knowing how to protect your personal information can help you to reduce your risk of falling victim to these events.

According to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) there are four main ways to do it:

  1. Know who you share your information with
  2. Store and dispose of your personal information securely
  3. Ask questions before deciding to share your personal information
  4. Maintain appropriate security on your computers and other electronic devices.

There's also four signs to watch for to determine if you're being scammed:

  1. Scammers PRETEND to be from an organization you know.
  2. Scammers say there's a PROBLEM or a PRIZE.
  3. Scammers PRESSURE you to act immediately
  4. Scammers tell you to PAY in a specific way

TFed offers many options to allow you to monitor your accounts regularly to spot any unauthorized charges. You can do this with Online & Mobile Banking. You can also utilize our TFed Card Control app to control your Debit Card usage and receive instant alerts when your card is used. We also offer Real-Time Fraud Alerts to alert you when a potentially fraudulent transaction has been attempted on your card.

It is TFed's policy to NEVER ask for member information via email, text message or Automated Services. When in doubt, do not provide any information and give TFed a call immediately at (508) 824-6466.
